In our modern world, practitioners often face a sense of isolation. The Association for Universal Reiki Awakening provides a sanctuary for connection, moving us from the "Call of the Heart" for our own healing to a collective call for the healing of all beings.

Our Sacred Lineage: The Lineage of Light

Our foundational integrity rests upon a continuous chain of empowerment and light stretching back over a century. We honor the predecessors who have protected this pure flow of universal life force:

Mikao Usui (Usui Sensei): In 1922, Usui Sensei experienced a profound enlightenment on Mount Kurama, discovering a way to harmonize the human spirit with universal law. His commitment was formalized through service to the suffering community during the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, where he used Reiki to treat countless victims.

Chujiro Hayashi: A master of clinical precision, Hayashi Sensei systemized the hand positions and clinical records we use today, showing us that when we work in harmony, the energy is transformed into something even more potent.

Hawayo Takata: In 1938, Mrs. Takata became the bridge to the Western world, ensuring that this light would become a global heritage while maintaining the core philosophy that the practitioner is a channel for the Divine.

The Essence of Our Practice

Reiki is derived from the Japanese "Rei" (Universal) and "Ki" (Life Force Energy). It is not merely a healing modality we "do," but an intelligent, loving presence that flows through us.

The Practitioner as a Vessel: Our role is to serve as a conduit—a clear vessel for a source that is infinite and self-regulating. We are the garden hose, not the water; the hollow bamboo, not the wind.

The Power of Staying Out of the Way: By mastering the art of release, we allow the light to do the work. True healing arises through presence, trust, and alignment with Reiki rather than control.

Gassho (The Foundation of Presence): We place our hands together at the heart center to quiet the ego and enter a state of wonderful stillness and gratitude.

Reiji-ho (The Invocation of Spirit): We ask for intuitive guidance, surrendering our personal will to the intelligence of the energy for the highest good of all.

Chiryo (The Collective Flow): We become active participants in world healing through treatment, following the intuitive flow of energy to create a "bath of light" for the recipient.
